U.S. Clean Energy Misson to China and India
The U.S. Commerce Assistant Secretary David Bohigian and 18 U.S. companies joined the second U.S. Clean-Energy Trade Mission. This mission will make stops in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong, China as well as Kolkata and Bangalore, India, from Jan. 8-18. These companies will be exposed to business opportunities in these fast-growing markets, where American clean-energy technology goods and services can help improve the environment.
U.S. clean-energy companies can help China and India meet their enormous energy demands while deploying technology that benefits the environment. The trip begins in China starting on January 8, 2008 and ending on January 13th. The India leg starts on January 14, 2008 and finishes on January 18th, 2008

These clean energy companies specialize in the renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean coal, and distributed generation sectors. They offer innovative solutions to China’s and India’s energy and environmental challenges and are potential partners to the countries’ business and government leaders.
All companies participating in the mission belong to industry sectors advanced by the Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (APP). The APP is a Presidential priority to achieve a reduction in the intensity of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions and enhance energy security, in the context of sustained economic growth.
The APP is a public-private partnership including seven partner countries, representing half of the world’s economy, population and energy consumption: Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, South Korea and the United States. Member countries work together to break down policy barriers and facilitate commercial deployment of technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance energy security.
