Study Finds That Proximity to Wind Farms Doesn't Deminish a Home's Property Value
A new study from Poletti and Associates confirms earlier studies that wind turbines and homes can co-exist without negative impact on home property values. The study of wind farms in two states shows that wind energy facilities do not harm property values, and some new-home buyers are embracing the benefits of such 'green energy' developments in their areas.
Wave Energy Device Deployed off Oregon Coast
Finavera Renewables Inc. announced on September 6th that it has successfully completed a major milestone in its wave energy development program with the deployment and commissioning of the AquaBuOY 2.0 wave energy converter off the coast of Newport, Oregon. This marks the first installation of a wave energy converter of this scale off the west coast of North America and moves the Company closer to achieving its goal of commercial electricity generation from ocean waves by 2010.
Department of Energy to Fund $33 Million for Cellulosic Biofuels
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced on August 27, 2007 a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) that will make available up to $33.8 million to support the development of commercially viable enzymes - a key step to enabling bio-based production of clean, renewable biofuels such as cellulosic ethanol. As part of the President’s Twenty in Ten Plan, DOE is pursuing a long-term strategy to support increased availability and cost-effective use of renewable and alternative fuels. Twenty in Ten seeks to displace 20 percent of U.S. gasoline usage by 2017 through diversification of clean energy sources and increased vehicle efficiency.

America's biodiesel future took a giant step forward this Auguest with the inauguration of the Louis Dreyfus Soybean Processing and Biofuel Plant in Clayton, Indiana, the largest integrated soybean-based production facility in the world.
Michigan GreenCurrents Plan to Build 100 MW Wind Farm
DTE Energy announced today it has signed a long-term agreement with Michigan-based renewable energy company Heritage Sustainable Energy, LLC to provide wind supply for the company's GreenCurrents renewable energy program. The 10-year agreement will enable Heritage to build a new 6,500-acre wind farm in Richland Twp., Michigan.
